Startup Support

The new venture continuum provides a roadmap of services available to aspiring entrepreneurs in the Vanderbilt community, and spans a broad range of support from discovery and implementation, to translation and proof of concept, to scaling and growth of a Vanderbilt-affiliated startup.

The new ventures team in CTTC is dedicated to supporting members of the Vanderbilt community evaluate, plan, launch and grow startup companies pursuing the commercialization of Vanderbilt technologies. The process for carrying out such support is detailed here.

Entrepreneurship & Institutional Services

This document describes the process by which the Center for Technology Transfer and Commercialization and its New Ventures Team can help Vanderbilt University and Vanderbilt University Medical Center faculty and staff launch new ventures to commercialize inventions made at Vanderbilt.

EIRs advise and assist Vanderbilt entrepreneurs in the launch of new ventures. They are experts in business formation, operations and strategy, and have been successful entrepreneurs, investors in startup companies, and seasoned executives from large corporations with experience in an entrepreneurial setting.

The Entrepreneurship Advisory Council is composed of experienced members of the local business community who advise tech transfer regarding the feasibility of commercializing select technologies through new venture creation, and help interrogate start up business models.

Vanderbilt’s portfolio of affiliated new ventures is searchable by market segment, with company details and contact information provided.

The Venture Partners Program is designed to provide greater and more meaningful interactions between faculty and staff entrepreneurs, their startup companies, and qualified seed and Series A investors looking for the latest tech-enabled market opportunities.
